It’s a Good Friday

Recent events are too much to even properly narrate. As much as I want to, I find myself at a loss for the right words. Bullet points will have to suffice.

In the past three weeks, I have:

  • met and interviewed a celebrity
  • started school with three morning classes a week
  • made a coptic-bound, pop-up book
  • bought and signed a gift as ‘from Tito Jude and Tita Ais’
  • acquired a slew of school supplies, including a fully-adjustable drafting table
  • gotten used to eating lunch in the car
  • art-directed a cover shoot without our editor-in-chief
  • done and redone drafting plates until my arms and back died

In the coming weeks, I’ll be:

  • writing (arguably) the most difficult section in the magazine
  • covering an entire shoot by myself, where I’ll have to art direct a new photographer (God I hope he has a tripod!) and write the piece too
  • going to Japan
  • reading the manuscript of an unpublished graphic novel
  • starting a group blog with a friend and colleague

Apparently, I am also up for a promotion, or at least that’s what they say.

Honestly, I don’t know how I’m doing it, but things are getting done, with time to spare for dates, shopping and reading too. I like to think that I was prepared ahead of time for this, that everything I’ve done in my life up to this point, has helped me to somehow handle everything. God’s timing is perfect. Even this four-day breathing space is just enough time to make me settle down and be comfortable with all these shiny, new things. I can only be grateful for His boundless grace and hope to be worthy of it.
